Hi everyone! I'm Kayla, and I'm trying to change my lifestyle. I've been overweight probably since middle school, and now I'm out of high school, trying to figure out how to get my college education. I've been a member of this site for a couple of months, but because of the holidays, I decided to get serious now about losing weight and getting fit.

I spend too much time on the computer/watching TV, so I'm trying to use my family's exercise cycle five days a week. I also LOVE swing dancing, and fortunately my friends have been throwing swing dance parties a lot lately (in fact, there's one tonight! :D)

My diet changes haven't been too bad, since I like most fruits and vegetables, but I love carbs way too much. I also might have a slight emotional eating problem, but exercising definitely helps with that, thanks to all the endorphins. :)

My goal weight is 130 lbs (which is in the middle of the "healthy" BMI range for me), and currently I'm 158 pounds. I've gotten down to 150 before, but I've always managed to gain it back. -_-

I'll be posting more often now, and I hope to make new friends! Have a great and healthy day!

~Kayla :)

Welcome to MFP Kayla! You have definitely come to the right place! :flowerforyou: I've been a member for 100 days and I've lost 27 pounds. Tbis makes you VERY aware of what you put in your mouth. I was a carb junkie before (potatoes and rice), but now I've learned to live without potatoes (MY FAVE FOOD EVER!) and only eat whole grain pasta. You'll get there. You just have to want it and follow the program. Just remember... you're changing your lifestyle, not dieting.
