Feeling frustrated!

Just wanted some advice as to what might be halting my weight loss this week. If anything I have worked out harder this week than any of the other weeks that I have lost, and the scale hasn't budged. Would also like some friends to add to my motivation.

    1. Weight loss is not linear. Many things can impact it. I was stuck for a week and a half due to TOM, and it finally dropped off in the last couple days.
    2. Looking at your diary you're using very generic entries and a lot of quick add calories, meaning you're probably eating more than you think. You need to start accurately weighing, measuring, and logging everything you consume.
    3. These links should help you out:

Normal body fluctuations such as stress, exercise, water retention from sodium, bowels, TOM, etc. will affect the rate at which your body burns fat from week to week. It will not be the same for most people. Since you have loss weight prior to this week then continue as you were and give your body the time it needs to do its job.

i second the 'non linear' response! I used to get quit disheartened in the first few months as I would have several weeks where the scales wouldnt budge. I have noticed a pattern with me though - i will be at a stationary weight (fluctuating within a pound or so) for about 3-4 weeks, and then I would lose a few pounds over the course of a few days. Now that this cycle has happened a few times, i am more relaxed when the scales dont budge.

    dont give up hope!

From the reading I've done on this, I think that it's generally going to be water retention. Your body is still losing fat, but this is hidden on the scales by the weight of the water masking the loss. It's all in the mind now - you've just got to keep plowing through it. The scales will catch up and you'll get a good, sudden weight loss.

You could Google things to help with the water retention. Drink lots of water and eat less salt. Over-exercise and under-eating can lead to water retention. The final thing is a bit anecdotal but after a bit of a plateau I find a big meal, high in calories is followed by a "whoosh" over the next two or three days.

Thanks guys, I do struggle drinking enough water. Will definitely try to improve that, and being more specific in my diary entries.
