This is how much visible fat you can cut off of 2.5 lbs of boneless, skinless chicken breasts.

Ahhh, that's better...

Does anyone else do this? Or am I just OCD?

I buy the hand trimmed 99% fat free kind.....and then trim again myself before using. Can't stand to have any on it at all.

Yup, I also do that. Chicken, beef, pork... if I can see the fat, it's getting cut off!
  • But...but...that's where all the flavor is!

Or so I've been told. lol

I usually trim/cut off any fat on any meat I get.
  • I do it too. I don't like any skin or fat on my meat.

I do it. But not to that extent. I don't add any oil when I cook it so I need a little bit of fat on the chicken otherwise it sticks.

I usually do a really good trim for all my meat, although it's more because I *hate* the texture of fat--chewy, slimy, and oily. No thanks...

fats where all the flavour lives

I trim it all off like that too. I get a package of about 8 total, then I cut off all the fat and repackage them 2 to a bag which is what I need per meal for me and my fiance.

I disagree with the flavor being in the fat. I think fat tastes disgusting which is why I cut it all off before I started losing weight. The chicken itself tastes pretty darn good without all that slimy chewy mess on it. :flowerforyou:

I don't understand the saying "the fat is where all the flavor is." Have you ever bit into a wad of fat... it tastes nasty.:-P I'm all for trimming off the fat on my food. If I get it in my mouth, I spit it out... gross!

I think this is true for chicken... However, if you've ever had a rib-eye steak (marbleized), or toro sushi (fatty tuna), you would definitely understand that statement... I know I do.
