If that's considered a "clean" deadlift in CF games, then criteria is low level. Kinda disheartening.

EDIT: This isn't a bash against doing CF. It's an opinion on the criteria of what's considered a clean deadlift in the CF games.

I get the biggest kicks out of those kipping pullups they do. AND how do you know if someone does CrossFit? They'll tell you.

regardless of my thoughts on Crossfit, Elizabeth Akinwale is one of my sheroes.

I watched part of the games and I think they are fairly hilarious because they are just testing how good you are at exercising which made me wonder why there isnt something like Zumba games or Cardio kickbox games?

He's not flaming CF, he's flaming that awful DL. An awful DL is an awful DL regardless of it's a PL'r, CF'r, or casual gym goer.

niner isn't like that at all. Take a pill. You must be a CF'r to draw such butt-hurt from that comment. LOL

I do and I am not seeing it either...... Offering an opinion in regards to this individual form in doing a dead lift in this case at a Crossfit event is not flame baiting,

I think he's saying that the OP was the one flame baiting by offering a video of a terrible DL that counted in the crossfit games. The intent of the post was to get people riled up. What other purpose could the OP have had? It's just funny because that's rather obvious to most people but not a forum mod (someone who should be able to see these things) who took the bait that the flame baiter left for us. Niner didn't flame bait; he just fell for it.

Apparently they are "get it about 90% of the way, twitch a bit, and drop it"

Is it really flame baiting if a certain group of people are just overly sensitive?

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it still make a sound?

The kipping pullups are kind of hilarious.
All that said, Rich Froning, the 4 time champ is pretty impressive, especially winning all three events on the final day.

Yes, compared to all the non CF runners and squatters and deadlifters and Zumba'ers on this site that never mention a single thing about what they do.

How do you know someone hates crossfit? They make a troll post about it. Or cosign one.

It's considered 'lifted' as long as it gets off the ground?

I'm pretty sure that at least 99.44% of the games athletes are "pretty impressive"...

(...especially compared to the vast majority of internet athletes who bash them.)

To imply that any of these games competitors aren't impressive athletes is crazy-talk.

I don't CF, but watched the games all weekend. They have to lock out on most of their lifts to make it count, but it was a really mixed bag as to what was counted as a rep and what wasn't between the judges.

The bods on the lady CF'ers though? Love it!

I'm the interest of fairness, can the OP return and post the 300 high quality deadlifts that occurred during the cf games?

Or perhaps he can give us a breakdown of how many acceptable lifts occurred vs how many sloppy lifts?

Or maybe post a few of his own max DL videos so that we can see what proper form looks like?

    Bueller?
