Hip pain

I work as a ICU RN 12 hr shifts x 3-4 days a week. I'm either standing or walking most of my day. I have had bilateral hip pain for a few years now. It seems to flair up for a few weeks then goes away for awhile. I take NSAIDS (Aleve) and use a arthritis cream. I did have a fall on black ice about 6 years ago landing on my left hip. I've been told I have bursitis, but not sure why my right hip would hurt!

Exercises with hip pain?

I am wanting to start training for a 5K - Color Run in October!

Hip pain can be a symptom of a problem elsewhere in the kinetic chain. I would see a sports MD or PT for full assessment.

Losing weight should help, as should wearing shoes with a zero "heel to toe drop" and a flexible sole. Most shoes have a raised heel & rigid sole, which is ergonomically incorrect and can cause hip pain.
