losing motivation/enthusiasm HELP!!!

So for about 1 year I was mostly always motivated or enthused about going to the gym and eating healthy/smaller portions. I would work out 3 to 6 days a week and most days would be very intense and long and I really watched what I ate, but for the past few months I really haven't found any enjoyment in working out or eating better. I still have a little fat on my body that I want to get rid of and I want to gain more muscle, tighten, tone, and define. But I have really been just wanting to give up or do bare minimum. I now work out 2-4 days a week depending on my mood and how I feel and I tend to eat more junk then I would like I mean its still not nearly as bad as it was in the past but I know these could be better as they were great for 1 year!! What are some suggestions to help me get out of this funk?

Do something different! Try riding a bike, going for a run, swimming, join a kickball league, try yoga. It sounds like you're just burnt out on the gym. Do something to stay active but try something totally different for a few weeks and see if that inspires you. As for food, try to reel it in before it gets out of control and you start gaining. Maybe try some new healthy foods or find some new recipes to get you back on track. And just think of how hard you worked to get where you are now.0

Sign up for a benefit run a month or two a way - then start training for the run. It gives a goal to reach for without stressing as much.0

You sound like me when I get bored. Try something new. Are there any interesting classes at the gym you haven't tried? Are you bored with your gym? You may need to find a new one or try working out outside on your own at least for the summer. Are there any 5K or other races coming up you can sign up for? I love my water aerobic classes and the enthusiasm carries over to my walk/run sessions. Find something you enjoy and makes you happy. I don't belong to a gym but have found many community center and local school fitness class for free or very cheap.0

Is there any way I can build muscle without going to the gym? Also I'm a VERY PICKY eater so my food options are extremely limited and I'm lactose/dairy intolerant.0 -

the Eating Well and Shop Rite websites have meal plans for different dietary restricts and recipes for free. They are a good place to start a search for new ideas.0 -
I'm right there with you, OP. Was doing well, for a year. Now? Now, it's all I can do to drag myself to the gym. And while I want to eat right, and well, I also find myself leaning towards things I know I shouldn't be eating. Someone also suggested to me that maybe I'm just bored with what I'm doing and that I should try to find something new.
To quote one of my friends: "Hang in there, think of all the good you've done so far, and remember why you started this thing to begin with. Then, find something new and fun that you enjoy and just do it."0 -

I second this. And get competitive about it. That will encourage more exercise, more variety of exercise, and a healthier diet, time spent researching how to get your fastest possible time, etc. Or well, there's triathlon training if you're really ambitious.0
