About 3/4 years ago I lost a lot of weight on the atkins diet, around 3.5 st in 7 months, I done it to give myself a better chance of conceiving my daughter. We got pregnant really quickly and I started a normal diet again, by the time my daughter was born I was 4st heavier, 4st gain in 9 months.
All my daughters baby photos I was always the one behind the camera, infact I have very few photos of me with my baby girl.
Christmas this year I decided enough was enough, I was going to lose weight, for my health, my family and my happiness. I set myself a goal of getting back to my pre pregnancy weight before my 30th birthday.
Well my birthday is today and I have lost the weight and about a stone more. I wont lie and say it was easy, it was hard work but I have done it.
Starting weight - 256
current weight - 187
starting size - 22/24
current size - 14-16
I have joined a local gym and go approx. 3 times per week, I can now run, not miles and miles but I can run. I am a lot happier in myself and I am enjoying the summer with my daughter being able to be in photos without having to hide.
I done it all through calorie counting and measuring accurately of food, its amazing how much I was actually eating in a day. I have not stopped having treats but I now do it in moderation. I am not finished losing and hope to lose at least another 14lbs. My weight loss has slowed down a lot, I lost 4 st in the first 5 months and since then my weight loss has dramatically slowed.
To anyone who is struggling and having doubts about whether they can do it, you can! but you need to want it and stick at it, have motivation, its not easy but it is worth it, you will have bad days but wake up and start afresh the following day. Oh and drink drink drink water until you cant physically drink any more, it really does help with weight loss. I have a before and after but I don't have the balls to post just yet, maybe when I get to my new goal I will.
