Hi I'm 28 and I weigh 8 stone 3lbs and I'm 5ft 6 and a half .
I'm happy at this weight ..at my heaviest I was 9 stone 2lbs and lost a stone in a year .
I'm happy how I am but worry about getting back to 9 stone even tho 9 stone is fine .
I love food that's the problem ..today I've ate 2 slices of toast ..lunch was small jacket potato with Tuna mayo and 1 biscuit ..tea was 2 sausages and a little mash with veg and I was hungry later so I had 1 whole meal toast with 1 scrambled egg .
I walk about a hour if not more a day and I'm always on the go .
Does anybody have any tips to stop eating so much during the day ? I'm always hungry but constantly worry about getting big again and back to 9 stone .

I cant see your diary but make sure your eating enough as it doesn't sound a lot - Then again your eating totally different things to what i eat - just make sure you are over 1200 calories.
As for not eating much during the day - try green tea. It might be a mind over matter thing but apparently its really good for you (if you can get the caffeine free version even better) and its a natural appetite suppressant, Gives me something lovely and warm in my stomach and its virtually calorieless.0 -
If you're logging your food accurately and following the MFP programme then you wont gain the weight.0

It might be an obvious answer and I am sure you do this already, but you need to drink water as much as you can. I find myself always going for water first to try and curb the hunger, doesn't always work, but it can help. Even sometimes just having a piece of chewing gum to chew on can lose the hunger. If it's evening and I am feeling quite hungry, I drink my water and like to go up to my bed as I usually feel that once I am in bed I will not think about food again. I've recently started with a PT and although I didn't want her to change my eating habits, it has just sort of happened with little tips she has given me. If you want a snack to go along with your lunch, have a banana - these make you feel full instantly. Also great for the evening if you really need something. Eggs are great, but if you are eating them a little late at night then this is going to make your body get used to eating something so filling late at night and each night your body will hunger for it. If you can slowly cut out eating that extra food, or just start making sure it is earlier, then your body may not be looking for the food once you have had your evening meal.
I'm sure there will be more qualified people to explain the whole in and outs of what you should and shouldn't eat, but this is the simplest way that I have began to understand it. Eat foods that are filling and long lasting. Have a bowl of porridge with some fruit, bananas like I said and even have your eggs, but just don't have it too late. My PT recommended not eating later than 7pm if I can help it and I can honestly say I am now very rarely looking for food at that time of night.
I tell you one other thing that might help, if it is possible for you - go out for a walk. Just because you already walk a lot doesn't mean you can't do a bit more, it can be leisurely, but if you go for long enough and are not thinking about food, chances are your will have quashed your appetite.
If after all that you are still hungry in the evening, then I would suggest you are just not eating enough in the day, but from what you say you eat, it sounds like enough, maybe just not always the best types of food as it's quite a lot of potato (carb).
That's my way of looking at it anyway :-)0 -
If I'm not mistaken, you are between 115 and 130, for someone that is 5'6" -- your heaviest was within a normal range and you're actually on the cusp of underweight right now according to the BMI (which doesn't tell the whole story, but your post is giving me red flags all the same).
I am a little concerned because your weight seems low and it doesn't sound like you're eating a lot. Maybe that's one reason why you're hungry.
It would be easier to tell if others could see your food and activity so people can give feedback for sure, though.0 -
Firstly being 9st at 5ft 6 is not 'big'....
Set MFP to maintain and eat those cals. I would look at reducing carbs and increasing fat and protein, based on what you said you eat in a day.0 -
I have a small frame and at my smallest (UK 6/8) I was 8 and half stone and I did zero exercise so I didn't carry any lean muscle I'm 2 inches shorter than you, so at your weight I wouldn't worry about gaining any weight as you can probably be a healthy weight with an extra half a stone or more.
How many calories do you eat a day as from what you have said it doesn't sound like enough to maintain on and you are probably hungry all the time.0 -
More filling foods, in the form of protein, fat and fibre-rich foods can help keep you on course. Also, complex carbs that slowly release energy can do the same. What I've found personally though, is that I stand little chance of maintaining control over what I eat if there's too much simple carbs or added sugar in my diet. Mostly though, you've got to find something sustainable for you, as being hungry all the time will defeat anyone over a long enough time frame, no matter what their willpower.
Maybe something like intermittent fasting/ reduced eating windows, and reverse dieting might prove useful though too, although to be honest, have no experience of either, just thought they looked like interesting tools potentially.
EDIT: first port of call, as others have mentioned, is to realistically look at what you're eating and assess if its sufficient.0 -

You might consider opening your diary. Have you had MFP set your maintenance goal for you? If you're set as sedentary, you're probably not eating enough. Set your goal at lightly active or active and see if you gain. If you do, then set it lower. if you keep losing, set it higher. Eat your exercise calories back. If it's more than you normally eat (it was for me) then work on reaching that goal. It's actually quite liberating to know how much you can eat and not gain weight. It's been a whole new journey for me as I spend my entire life afraid of getting fat and then yo yoing 20-25 lb all the time. Now I know what to aim for and I've been pretty stable.0
