How much weight do you think I could lose within a month?

I started out at 200 lbs, lost 20 lbs fairly quickly- and really ever since have been maintaining/lazing about without losing any weight. I actually gained a few pounds back because I haven't been exercising lately.
Anyway I'm around 182 lbs now and is really like to try jump starting my weight loss again. I'm going back to eating healthily and at a calorie cut, as well as exercising at least an hour a day again.
Is it unrealistic to hope for 15 lbs lost within 5-6 weeks? Would 10 lbs be more realistic to hope for in that time frame?

Thank you for your help. I've been going very slowly along losing weight, and I will probably follow this pattern of losing weight and then maintaining for a substantial amount of time. I don't get upset about slow progress and my body adjusts to the weight loss! I'd like to be at least 10-ish lbs down by my birthday, which isn't for a few more months but hey- shoot for the moon and you'll still end up in the stars! (At least I think that's how that quote goes)
Thank you again! Have a terrific day!

In a honesty, yes. That is too much weight to lose in that time frame. I'm assuming you want fat loss, not just scale loss. I would shoot for 1 lb ish a week. I lost 53 lbs this way and it took me 9 months to get there but the end results were worth the wait. You are worth the wait, too. Take it slow. Learn sustainable habits so you can maintain what you've lost and enjoy the ride.

And trust me, I know what it's like to want it to come off quick. I was 170 lbs at 5'3.5" and miserable but trust me, quick weight loss is typically not good weight loss unless you're losing weight to save your life.

Since you stipulated "eating healthily", 1-2lbs/week is your goal. That's 6-12lbs in six weeks per Mayo Clinic, NIH, and CDC. WebMD discusses faster diets--but in the context of those firmly in the obese range.

More isn't always better. Most want a healthy, functional, attractive body. :)
