Need tips for my mostly bed-ridden self!

So two weeks ago I was in a bad car accident, and I broke my pelvis in two places and possibly a few ribs. I went to my follow up appointment today and did X-rays and stuff. The doctor says I should be on crutches for four f'ing more weeks. If any of you have any tips, ideas, advice on any ways to keep myself from going overboard and gaining more weight, I'd love to hear it. They told me what to do as far as making sure my range of motion in my pelvis is worked on, but I can't do any weight-bearing exercises just yet. And sit-ups and push-ups are out (for now) due to the pain in my rib. I just need some help so I don't end up where I started. I know portion control will be important more now than ever. So anything you can think of, however small it may seem, I'd love to hear it. I'm going to need some help getting through this! ????

My ideas so far: light weights to do while sitting. Maybe get some resistance bands. And swimming. I went in the pool a few days ago and it felt great.

Mainly, I need ideas on how to keep my mind off of food when I'm just sitting at home for hours and hours all day.

First, I can only imagine how thankful you are that you survived that accident. It sounds quite painful, but at least you're alive to tell the story. That's a blessing!

Second, congratulations on your weight loss so far!! 67 pounds is quite impressive and very encouraging for me.

Finally, it sounds like you have a good plan as far as exercise ideas. You listed everything I could think of. Continue to eat balanced meals, and I would recommend starting a hobby that requires your hands. Try knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, reading, etc. It's hard to eat properly while doing these.

Know that this is just a small hurdle that you will overcome. You CAN do this! Wishing you all the best.

Just match your intake of food with your activity level. You shouldn't gain weight. Keep busy.
