I couldn't stand to exercise at the gym if I didn't have my IPod. I have a playlist of songs that gets me motivated and moving. Some are on the playlist for their lyrics and some for the beat.

The same songs can get boring so I thought I would start this thread so we could exchange ideas and maybe pick up some new songs.

Anyway, a few of mine.

Fat Man - Jethro Tull. Always the first song I listen to it reminds me of why I am about to work out.

I Would Walk 500 Miles - The Proclaimers

Walk This Way - Aerosmith

Running Down a Dream - Tom Petty

There Goes My Heart - The Mavericks

Those are just a few. I'll add more if folks are interested.

You could also have Fat Man by Mammoth. Or Big Fat Mama - Status Quo, Cardiac Arrest - Madness or plain old Heart Attack by Olivia Newton-John! Or Queen's Fat Bottomed Girls. Best one for me would be Fattie Bum Bum by Carl Malcolm from about 1975-ish which a girl at school used to sing at me every time I saw her, possibly the only time I could have cheerfully punched a female :) (but didn't). Good luck with your loss and yes the gym bores the pants off me too!
  • Some of my favourites:

Don't Stop Me Now - Queen
Weapon of Choice - Fatboy Slim
Me and Mia - Ted Leo and the Pharmacists
Sexy Results - Death From Above 1979
Fell in Love With a Girl - The White Stripes
Baby Got Back - Sir Mix-a-lot (Only because it's hilarious, and I totally forget I'm working out)
