Interesting Water Facts

We all know that water is important, but I’ve never seen it described like this before!!!!

75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. ( Likely applies to half the world population). In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for Hunger. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as much as 3%. One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of dieters studied in a U- Washington study. Lack of water, the 1# trigger of daytime fatigue. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should everyday???

Posting this again So people can see how important it is to get your Water in!!

Very interesting, I try to drink 10 to 12 glasses of water a day. Since I started doing this I wake up every morning dying if thrist, I was thinking this was odd, but after reading this maybe it's just because I'm more in tuned with the water my body needs. I definately have reeped the benefits of all the water, better metobolism, less hungry and clear soft skin.

That is interesting. I have been trying to drink a glass of water before meals and it helps me feel more full. I carry an 18 oz water bottle around every day and it clips onto my purse strap so I feel naked when I forget it at home!

Question - is one "glass" of water = 8 oz? That has been my rule of thumb. If so, then if I drink 4 of my water bottles then that makes 9 glasses of water!

Thanks for the motivational info. It is truly inspiring to know how much good water is for us, especially when so many people put stock into special cleansing formulas - water is the best thing ever!
