Losing weight with a foot injury

Hi everyone, I'm Chelsie. This is my first post here so I'm not all too familiar with how the community works so forgive if I don't do this right lol.
Well, I quit my job in december to start school and because I'm no longer on my feet all day and I'm always sitting doing homework, I've gained probably about 25 pounds in the last 7 months. So I began working out a few times a week and was off to a good start, but 2 weeks ago I stepped on a shoe coming down the stairs and broke my cuboid bone in my foot. I saw a specialist and he said it will be a long heal in an aircast, at least 8 weeks but possibly even longer than that, so I guess I'm looking for tips and ideas for working out and burning calories (especially cardio) with a broken foot. Any suggestions are appreciated!
thank you ,
Chelsie
