Goal Setting and Lifestyle Changes

 This thing called goal setting...seems easy at first. But not so much when you really put an effort into doing it! I need to desperately make lifestyle changes so that I do not become diabetic. That terrifies me! I am in a prevention program that our insurance company paid for. I still find myself not planning, no making eating more of a priority. I have to do this! My life and limbs depend on it. So, this is my soap box. Now is the time. No stopping. No looking back. I will track my food. I will log into myfitnesspal every single day. :grumble: without grumbling!

Hi, is there something you wanted to ask the community?

I can point you to photos of limbs prior to amputation due to neuropathy or stories of decreasing eyesight due to retinopathy or perhaps something affecting the circulatory system? All those are diabetes-related complications and while diabetes itself is "easily managed by taking insulin shots and measuring blood glucose" (it's not easily managed, some people just see the insulin as yet another "pill" solution), the systemic problems that arise from it are no joke. Maybe that's enough motivation for you? This may sound harsh, but it is reality, and I should imagine the biggest answer to "Why (should I do this)?"
