new baby, new routine, new plan

So I've been maintaining for a few months now. I am a 5'3" woman, 160lbs. I was previously extremely active and went from my highest weight at 188lbs to where I am now. I plan to lose another 10-15lbs, but right now I am pretty satisfied with maintaining the weight loss that I worked so hard for.
Why just shoot for maintenance when I have so much work to go? Well, because my wife just had a baby! Our first! On July 1st. So now we are learning a new routine, and with interrupted sleep and much more responsibility at home once I get back from work, I haven't made much time for exercise. Starting next week, I promise!
But I decided to crunch some numbers, since I have been maintaining so wonderfully without thinking about it very much over the last few months. I wanted to know, on average, how many calories I was consuming by analyzing my diary. I also wanted to know, on average, how many calories my FitBit says I was burning.
Here are the numbers:
My TDEE for "no activity" is 1730 cal/day.
My diary says that I have been consuming an average of 1670 cal/day.
My FitBit says that I have been burning an average of 2128 cal/day.
Something doesn't add up here. My guess is that I'm estimating my calories a bit low and FitBit is estimating my burn a bit high. To the tune of a 458.6 cal/day difference!
Moral of the story. Since I am resuming Half Marathon Training on Monday, I'm resetting my calorie goal to 1600 and I am not going to eat those pesky FitBit credited calories. Hopefully I'll be at my goal in no time!

Congrats to you and your wife on your new addition! Your routine will be changing constantly over the next 12 months, so I recommend being flexible and taking it easy on yourself if you're sleep deprived. Once they start sttn (sleeping through the night) and not needing overnight feedings things get easier. Schedules and routines get even better once they hit toddlerhood. Enjoy this amazing time with your new little one!0
