Every morning I eat breakfast, wait 30 minutes then do laps in the pool for an hour. And I just ate lunch and Im about to go do laps again in about 30 minutes. Should I wait longer to work out, even if the meal is small? Or should I work out hungry and then eat?

Well... I'm certainly no expert. I also have no research to back up anything i have to say. But i let my body tel me if its been too soon or not, and then use that for future reference. For instance, i learned that my body doesn't like to go running 3 miles only 5 minutes after i eat dinner. The run was awful, i felt sick, and had side aches, etc.
I would just use your best guess, then if you don't feel good during your exercise, then try a different time tomorrow until you find something that works for you.0 -
I try to eat on the same schedule every day regardless of my activity , As long as your are getting your food in your body, It doesn't matter when you really eat. I also like to have my carb/ high protein meal right after working out0
