So tonight i am going to have some salmon that i want to marinade in a brown sugar and soy sauce mixture. How on earth do i determine exactly how much brown sugar i am eating, and how do i log it? I am going to add about a half a cup to the marinade, but how much of that is absorbed into the salmon? I'm not going to be "drinking" every last drop of the marinade of course.

I have saved room for it so i'm not overly concerned about it, I am just curious about this. Anybody have any thoughts?

Could measure the marinade before and after.....likely you're looking at a couple of tablespoons.

Just make a recipe on here w/the marinade ingredients. Buuuut, marinades usually not all that bad on calories to begin with (especially if you're talking about the soy/sugar marinade on allrecipes).

If you want to be exact,
Could measure the marinade before and after...

That's going to be your best bet. You'll probably get it about 80% right.
