Women's stuff Time of the Month etc observations & questions

For a start, since I kicked up my exercise program up to a serious high gear, with between 70 mins to 2 hours of Jillian Michaels DVDs 6, sometimes 5 days a week, my PMT symptoms practically vanished. I got really hungry and binged a couple of times, but had no other symptoms, then came on my period a couple of days ago during the small hours. Earlier on the train, I'd been thinking my stomach ached a bit and had completely forgotten it was TOM coming.

Also, I get bad water retention on my period, but then a weird thing happens about 4 or 5 days in. I constantly have to go for massive pees (sorry if TMI), which I now call 'period wees'. After this, my weight settles back down and if I've been good with diet and exercise, I've usually lost a couple of pounds.

Does anyone else get this, or any other symptoms?

I also find that I can lift heavier weights when I'm on my period and have much more physical energy and stamina between ovulation and the first day of my period.

Nevertheless, I always take the first day off exercise as I my cramps are so bad and I feel very light headed and dizzy.

Sorry for all this women's stuff but I find it really interesting from a fitness point of view. So much is happening in our bodies having all sorts of crazy effects. What do other people get?

I definitely retain 2-3lbs of water weight the first 4-5 days of TOM. I too also have huge amounts of energy leading up to and sometimes during (sometimes I'm completely drained, too). It is pretty neat to see how similar, yet different we all are. I always wondered if it was normal to retain water around that time.
