Switching from another app

So I'm switching from Mynetdiary to this app. I've used mynetdiary about 2 years ago when it was really popular and now I've noticed MFP is more advanced as far as userfriendly things go and apps it can connect with.

But my calorie intake on mynetdiary was actually only a little above 1000. This is giving me the default 1,200 (which I do understand may be healthier) but it feels like losing weight is going to be so much slower. (mynetdiary = 2 lbs a week. MFP estimates me on 1.4 lbs a week when I want 2lbs...)

I guess I just need assurance that this is still going to work. The funny thing though is i'm so used to eating 1000 calories a day that I can't reach the 1,200 calorie mark at all without eating more than I feel I need...

Also any tips or pointers are welcome! I love hearing about weight loss success since it gives me so much motivation :)
