Urine Color - Sorry if TMI

So my first tinkle when arriving at work after my morning workout and breakfast (protein shake) has been radioactive yellow. I drink two glasses of water roughly 20 ounces after my workout. I drink water during the day and it gets much more clear.

Just a little concerned by the brightness of the urine. My last real diet about 8 years ago I worked out in the morning and drank the same amount of water after working out and I didn't have the same issue. It was very clear.

I will say I am working out much harder and really pushing myself this time and I use the sauna for about 10 minutes after working out.

Maybe I should be drinking more water before bed but I don't want to keep getting up during the night.

Are you taking any vitamin supplements in addition to your protein powder?

Do you take vitamins? Is the shake fortified with vitamins? A lot of time vitamins make your urine very, very yellow. Dark urine in the a.m. could also mean you need more water. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Red or bright orange urine can indicate liver issues so if you see that I'd consult a doctor.

Yes I take a multi vitamin and a GNC testosterone booster which is probably a waste of $$$

    Niacin.

Niacin in the multi vitamin causes it?

It's the vitamins. Especially if you take them in the AM or before bed.

Mine make my pee almost green, but definitely a nice radioactive glow :)

Sounds to me like it's just extra water soluble vitamins (probably a B vitamin) being flushed out and isn't anything to really be concerned with. If the color goes orange, red, brown, black, purple, blue, green... Then there's a problem but radioactive yellow is most likely normal in your situation.

Of course, if you're really concerned you could ask your PCP (I'm not a doctor, heh)

First off, it's definitely NOT TMI .. it (and poop colour/consistency) is a VERY important monitor of health.
