Temptations

Looking for support and ideas on battling temptations. I am almost daily being tempted by foods that I shouldn't eat and are not planned into my day. I have a carb addiction so that covers a lot of territory in the food world. What are some things that you do to help you battle temptations. I have worked with including them periodically into my planned day, but that still doesn't help when the donuts and chips are set out for the taking. Thanks!

edit part: I also tend to be tempted by better foods like cheese too. Ugh!

Logging - not just in mfp for calories, but writing down what you eat and why. Generally writing down what we are doing helps us (supposedly- according to studies anyway, lol) I like reading what other people are doing that's why I'm in a accountability group - but that's not helpful for everyone.

It's hard. I vote changing slowly but some can change habits cold turkey. So do what works best for you and make note of it.

I am fighting the exact same thing every day. I am addicted to sugar, the worst kind, so whenever I see ice-cream / cake or other desserts after meals, I cannot stop myself. I have noticed that quitting cold turkey works best. If I take even a small bit of dessert, I will end up eating a lot more. Still struggling, but hope to get over it at some point.
