Feeling Discouraged :(

So I've been working out and eating well and I've been losing weight but I'm concerned that I'm not going to get the look I want for my body when I get to the weight I want to be. My workout consists of 30 min of elliptical and a pinterest workout (400 jumping jacks, 300 crunches, 200 squats and 100 pushups) and I alternate doing that workout once a day and two times a day and I rest on Sunday. I've never been then in my life. I've always been a bit on the chubby side so I'm afraid that my body wont look toned the way I would want it to be because I've never seen my body then. Am I doing the right workouts? Should I try something else. I feel like I'm doing something wrong :(

If you've been losing weight, then you're not doing it wrong. I would recommend changing up your workout routine and start adding strength training. Lifting helps to retain muscle mass while losing weight and helps burn calories.

300 crunches?..if you can do 300 crunches i'm sure you will be toned when you reach your goal weight.
  • I'm in the same boat. I have been exercising (walking/jogging 3 miles 5-6 says a week). My calorie intake is set at 1200. Most of the, time I have calories left over that I don't use. The scale is not budging! I drink lots of water daily and stopped sodas completely! Please help!

The worst thing that could happen, you get to your goal weight and end up needing to lifting weights to get the body you want. Is that really all that horrible? I've already come to terms with the fact that I will probably need to do a body recomp (weights + maintenance calories) when I get rid of some of this fat. I might even decide that I need to bulk up (weights + calorie surplus). Either way it's not the end of the world, but just another stepping stone to the body I want to have. :drinker:
  • Any advice for me?

Try increasing your calories a bit. MFP set me to 1200 and I did great for the first 30 pounds. Then the scale got stuck. I increased my cardio and still nothing. The scale didn't move again until I upped my calories and made sure I was actually eating enough. At 1350-1400 I'm starting to lose again.
  • Thank you!

I can tell you that sometimes you reach your "goal weight" and it isn't quite what you thought it would be. After losing 50 lbs I thought everything would be perfect.. Yeah, that was a bit of a fairytale but that is what I thought at my heaviest.

Now I have changed my goal a bit and started to focus on using my workouts in a way to tone and add muscle so that I can fix those problem areas while I go for my ultimate weight goal. Not far to go.. but now it is more about body re-composition at this more..and less about the weight.

Keep doing what you are doing... when you reach one goal... see what you are and create new ones!!!!!!!!!

better to not look ur best and lose weight than to be fat and def look bad.

That said, sometimes the scale doestn move and sometimes it does. When in doubt, forge the scale and stay focused.
