I weigh myself and measure myself but do you think its worth investing in a body fat monitor or better weighing scales.

The scales i currently have only record weight in stones/lbs so i could of lost a little weight but as its less than a lb its not recording on the scales.

Thanks

Personally I do have a scales that measures body fat % and water %, and also measures to 0.1lbs, but I only have these scales because they were on offer and needed a new set (and was pretty much the only set in the shop!). I find the % programs aren't massively reliable - if you want accurate readings you really need it done properly rather than on a set of scales.

I also see no reason why measuring to the closest lb would be inefficient. Measuring to 0.1lbs may give some sort of feeling of accuracy and satisfaction if the scales drops 0.4lbs, but at the end of the day your weight fluctuates that much it probably won't add up to much.

Just focusing on your calorie deficient and exercise will see the weight drop off regardless - it is pretty discouraging not seeing the scales move but its just a matter of not giving up :)

Bodyfat measurements on a scale can fluctuate widely based on your hydration. Much like your scale can fluctuate based on water weight. So the only useful part would be to see what it is doing over time and not so much what it say you are at that exact moment. My scale does measure to the nears 10th and I do like that. Previously I had one that was to the nearest lb. It could be kind of discouraging not seeing any movement. Any scale I buy in the future will have this ability... and I would likely add the bf %. Just not sure I would run out and replace what i have.
