Upping my intensity? Advice needed on workout plans, etc.

So, I'm finally to 150! Woohoo! Which means I have 10lbs left until I'm no longer overweight. Still have a while to go to hit my goal weight, but this will be a huge milestone for me. I have 3 weeks left until I return to college, and would love to be down to 140 by then. I've been eating at my BMR (1450) for the last few weeks, with my TDEE around 1800, though when I'm working (which I am no longer as the camp season has wound down) it is closer to 2100. I will be doing yoga three times a week, hopefully 4x a week, a barre class, and am trying to get into running, though my asthma plus the Florida heat makes it an issue. I also am trying to lift as often as possible.

So... how do I find a lifting plan? What workout things CAN I do? Is it even possible for me to lose this weight before school?

Tony Horton's YouTube channel is a great place to start for looking for lifting exercises. He has a great library of free workouts there that can help you out. 10 pounds in 3 weeks will be hard to hit realistically. You should be losing around 1-2 pounds a week so at maximum you're looking at 6 pounds tops before school starts. Good news is though if you lose 1-2 pounds a week you should be able to hit your goal weight shortly after school starts.

10 lbs in three weeks with a 150 lb starting weight, no, not really. But you knew that already, right :)

Whoohoo on the weight loss milestone and good luck on the rest of it! Here's a stickied post in the Fitness and Exercise forum:

I've been losing about 2lbs+ a week so far. It's not unusual. And I have read said thread and it does not apply

Seems you already had the answer as to whether your planned rate of weight loss was realistic.

You've read this thread and you didn't see an answer on developing a lifting plan?

    Excerpt:

"2. How to get over the initial fear
Start with the book "Starting Strength". If you read that book in it's entirety, you will have the foundational knowledge to lift weights. Period. You can now go in to the weight room and be more knowledgeable than most of the men there. Also, you can read any of the "New Rules of Lifting" books (including but not limited to New Rules for Women). There is no difference between how men should lift versus how women should lift. Once you've started educating yourself, walk in and start giving things a try. If you're worried you won't know how to clip the weights on the bar or other small details (I know I get hung up on the small details myself) just know that after one single day of orienting yourself with the equipment, you'll know. The maximum uncomfortability is one day. Also, you can always post specific (even stupid) questions here on MFP and save a little face if you want to. If you're REALLY worried, hire a trainer for one session just to walk you through the equipment (after you've done your reading, so that you know what you're looking for) "

I already lift. As I said, my question was more about upping my intensity. I'm a bit past starting strength.

Got it. My reading comprehension may be completely off here but I suggest you clarify what you're doing and what exactly it is you're looking for. You stated you'd like to lift as often as possible and then asked for a lifting plan. Perhaps you'd like to describe your current plan and benefits interest you out of a new one?

Either way, I'm out. Good luck
