1. I pledge to do AT LEAST 20 sit-ups everyday throughout December.

2. I pledge to ONLY eat a chocolate treat ONCE a week throughout December. PROVIDED I have bided by pledge 1 and with the exception of Christmas day where I will just becareful of my treats!

3. I pledge to MAKE SURE I minimise my dinner portion size throughout December (INCLUDING Christmas day). < Even if I have 1 day off from filling in my food diary, which I'm sure most of us will on Christmas day... I still feel that its important to eat a recommended portion size so as not to feel 'FAT & GUILTY' after :blushing:.
Not sure about you, but I find that if my dinner portion is bigger then what I would normally eat I tend to eat it anyway, but if my dinner is a small 'healthy' size - I eat it and feel satisfied with myself. Also I think its important to THINK CAREFULLY and WATCH what treats/snacks you have throughout Christmas day (i.e. chocolate, cakes, crisps - you know the type I'm talking about). We all deserve a day off "granted" - but that doesn’t mean go overboard right... :drinker:

4. I pledge to eat ONLY FRUIT on an occasion that a UNNECCESARY erg to snack takes over (like they do). But again with the exception of Christmas day ONLY.

5. And finally, I pledge to come back onto this thread at the end of each week and CONFESS each time that I have broken pledge's 1 - 4 during that week throughout December (hopefully not too many times erh!).

Anyone else?........ :flowerforyou:

  • From my Fan Page:

5 Things I promise I will NOT do:
    1. I will NOT eat less than the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables in a day if I can help it. I will seek nutritious food that will contribute to my health.
    2. I will NOT eat less than 1200 calories a day and I will account for my calories burned while exercising to ensure this. I will not screw up my metabolism by putting myself into starvation mode.
    3. I will NOT exercise to the point where I risk giving myself a repeated stress injury. I will slowly get back into shape using a variety of forms of exercise and I will listen to my body.
    4. I will NOT sacrifice my life for my lifestyle. That is I want to keep living and part of that will be enjoying fattening food in moderation during holidays and parties. I'll try to compensate for indulgences as much as possible but I will indulge every now and again.
    5. I will NOT eat in such a way that I would consider unhealthy for my children to emulate. I will look at my choices and ask myself whether I would approve that same diet for Chloe or Sarah and if the answer is no, then I will make better choices.

There's no point to being thin if you're not healthy when you get there.
There's no point to living longer if you're going to be miserable all the time.
There's no point to being skinny if you're created horrible body image issues in your daughters.
I WILL keep this in mind and always try to focus on becoming a healthier and happier Julie over a thinner and smaller Julie.

    Good luck with your 5!
  • i love this!

    1) i pledge to give away to friends and family most of the xmas cookies/muffins/bread i bake and only save a very few for myself. (also to make them with new as healthy as possible versions)

    2) i pledge to practice my belly dance EVERY DAY of December (including my birthday and xmas). shimmy off that belly fat!

    3) i pledge to TRY to stop complaining about the lack of cold weather because it just annoys people who like warm xmases (i can keep it inside and vent to my BFF who also wishes it was 30 degrees and snowing) (<---not about weightloss i know but its something that i do EVERY xmas. because xmas in TX sucks :c but not everyone agrees with me, and i want to stop being annoying)

    4) i pledge to only drink 2% fat egg nog, no matter how much i want that full fat deliciousness when its the only kind we have left in the house. (i will just put lots of nutmeg in my coffee, instead of egg nog)

    5) i pledge to knit something for at least two people for xmas (hey knitting burns calories anyway XD)
  • OK, I'll bite ;-)! I pledge to...

    1. Stay within my calories every day for the month of December (Christmas not included  )

    2. Eat fruit or veggies when I want a snack.

    3. Complete the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Slimdown challenge that I joined.

    4. Drop the five pounds that I gained back after losing it this summer.

    5. Remove "weight loss" from my list of New Year's Resolutions.

Sounds good :D I've got into some bad habits lately with snacking alot, especially with biscuits/crisps

I pledge to limit my portion sizes so I don't end up feeling bloated and horrible afterwards. I seem to have a problem with this, always thinking what I've given myself is never enough :/

I pledge to exercise every day even if it is just going for a walk.

I pledge to limit my "unhealthy snack foods" to twice a week and only if I'm enough under on my calories

I pledge to try and regularly think of new foods to eat so I dont keep eating the same foods over and over (usually pasta with anything) and to keep things interesting.

I pledge to continue through my gym workout and never just go home halfway through because I've got lazy/am getting tired, and to also make sure that I get some cardio into every workout.

In the US, Jelly is jam (fruit preserves); gelatin or Jello = jelly
Eggnog is a drink made of heavy cream, eggs, sugar, and spices like cinnamon and nutmeg.

I love US/UK lingo... it's all English, but it's so different

really there's no egg nog in the UK!? its just a drink made from milk and eggs and delicious spices and sugar. most people mix it with alcohol. i use it as creamer in my coffee.

and yes it is what you call Jam. lol

Nope no egg nog here in Britain... but some of us do drink a Christmas cocktail called a 'Snowball' which I think by the sounds of it is kinda similar??

Thanks for the info :flowerforyou: x
