A little of this, a little of that... How do you do?

I never know how to introduce myself anywhere… So here goes:

I am a little bit neurotic, a little bit psychotic; plagued with enough intelligence that ignorance couldn’t bring me bliss. And I still smile often – but can you ever smile often enough? I wish I had a better sense of humor and was a funnier person, but every now and then alcohol will remind me that my sense of humor is sometimes mean and though ridiculously funny at times, it may not always be worth the trade…

I have been here and there, and just about everywhere (speaking both physically and psychologically), so I can empathize with multiple people in multiple situations and I currently call home Victoria, BC, Canada – but if you ask me where my heart is, I might tell you a different tale…

I’ve been on MFP for a number of years now on and off, more off time than on. I’ve never spoken in these forums before and I only really have 3 real life friends that use this app (periodically) as well… so right now I’m on a 30-day streak and I am hoping to make it a fair bit longer – like I want to be a lifer.

I run. So does my partner. We are on a schedule of running at least 5-8 kilometers 3 times a week. We will eventually make it to 10 k, and hopefully stay there. We have no real will to run further or longer. We work out; both strength training and other cardio work on no-run days. And I recently bought an awesome little Timex heart rate monitor to keep more accurate track of how many calories I’m burning, as I have an abnormally low heart rate (like 46 beats per minutes, and it’s been that way since way back when I was smoking 2 packs of cigarettes a day!).

I am a smart-*kitten* (as in cheeky) and (also) I know a lot about human anatomy & physiology, the musculoskeletal system, nutrition, fitness, therapeutic exercise and health. I need health and nutrition to be an integral part of my personal life, more so than my professional life (which it very much is the center of)…

And I want to make new friends…
