Hello! I've been eating clean for the past 5 weeks and didn't really see the results I was expecting, so I decided that I should track my caloric intake..which brought me here! I would like to aim for 1800 to 2000 calories a day. However, according to MFP's calculator, if I wanted to lose 2 pounds a week, I would need somewhere around 2300 calories a day. Is 1800 too little? I heard that if you don't get enough calories that your body freaks out and thinks it's starving therefore you don't lose weight. Can anyone shed some light on that?

Also, is anyone else eating clean??

Thanks!

I've heard both. That going under puts your body into starvation mode, and I've heard that no it doesn't depending on how long you stay at a very, very low calorie intake. Like 500 or less.
    And Welcome to MFP!
I want to eat clean, but so far my cravings are in controle.
