Carbohydrate nightmare

I am aiming to eat ~1400 calories per day. Does it matter if these calories are made up of a lot of carbohydrates like bread, or even things like cheese as long as I don't go over the calorie limit? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

While it doesn't matter for weight loss, a healthy balance of carbs, fat and protein is best for getting all the nutrients you need. Also protein and resistance training will help you keep your lbm and lose more fat.

Some will argue a "calorie is a calorie" and others will say the type of calorie matters.
Ultimately I find that when I eat a lot of "empty" calories like bread, chips, etc. I find I am more hungry. When I eat more nutrient dense calories (protein rich foods, for instance - that are higher in calories and fat) I stay satisfied longer and am not looking to gnaw on everything in sight.
It all boils down to a balance. I prefer to eat more "nutrient dense" calories because I feel better in the long run - I have the nutrition and energy I need. I save the empty calories for treats.
I hardly eat ANY bread because in my opinion, the amount of calories for the satisfaction isn't worth it. Unless it's garlic bread oozing with butter.0 -

I pretty much guarantee you're going to be hungrier if you eat mostly simple carbs. I LOVE bread and pasta, but even though they fill me up in the short term, I'm hungry again an hour or two later. I've found that eating fat and protein along with the carbs helps tremendously.0

Thank you! I have been drinking only water for a few months - not only has it cut out empty calories that don't fill me up, it has also really made my skin look way more healthy!0
