Santa syndrome no more! Looking for friends

Hi.
I’m finally getting around to introducing myself. I have been on MFP for quite some time lurking (now that I write it down it seems kinda creepy) and am in need of some friends for motivation. I, like many, have struggled with weight my whole life. It is time that I got off the down, up, up cycle. You know the cycle that every time you lose some weight you get it back double.
This is a huge lifestyle change, I have a want to be healthy that I have never had before, this time is for keeps. So far I have lost almost 40 lbs, walk on average 8km almost every day, and on week 5 of C25K. It is a good start, but I have a ways to go and a plan…… that I want to stick to.
I have been so inspired by all of the great Success stories, and how the MFP community is really a family, sometime dysfunctional, but a caring group that want to help each other. Thank you MFPers
Here is one of my many excuses
I am nearing 50 and suffering from Santa syndrome. This affliction will turn your hair white, add pounds to your middle and make you look like Santa, the traditional one at least. You start to think, I could get suspenders to hold my pants up and there is nothing like milk and cookies for a snack if I could just get to the recliner. Ladies it can happen to you too. It starts the same way then you think those nice elastic waist pants are a good fit with the matching sweater and your perfume is cinnamon.

I agree, great sense of humor. Laughter is the cure for everything, right? Feel free to add me also. I have been here for quite some time off and on...just like my diet. My daughter wants to do a 5K fitness walk next month so I really need to start moving and being much smarter with my choices if I'm going to be able to make it to the finish line. Good luck to you!0

Hi Ken,
You might be on to something, perhaps you might be able to help me laugh off all the pounds a lot faster than I can shake them off.
Feel free to add me as well.0 -
