Weight training for beginners and terrified!

Good morning!
I am thinking of trying weight training.
I have lost over 60 lbs. I am actually very happy with my weight (126 lbs and size 4). I don't want to get skinnier, but I want to have a better shape.
I don't know how to do this. No matter how skinny I have gotten, I still do not like the shape of my body-- I go to the gym, but I only do cardio.
Can I get some advice? How does one begin weight training? I am very intimated and don't know where to start.
Is this even the best way to get a better "shape", or should I continue to lose lbs? I don't like my midsection, but am size 4/6, 5'5" and 126 lbs.
Thanks in advance!
