Gaining weight?

I've been doing a 1200 calorie diet and a minimum of high intensity circuit training for 20 minutes a day. I typically add 20 minutes of swimming at a moderate pace afterwards. I've been doing this for 9 days and I've managed to gain weight. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Is your workout routine new? You could be retaining water (to repair/ strengthen muscle). Sodium intake? TOM?0

I guess it's fairly new? I'm not eating too many salty things, though I am drinking lots of water.0
