Does anyone have any tips on how 2 get extra protein?

    I added protein shakes to my daily diet. I use the Jiallian Michael's one and its not to bad. I use a scoop of powder, a cup of unsweetened almond breeze, and a cup of frozen fruit (banana is my fav but is kinda of high in calories). Blend a way in my majic bullet. It's really pretty good.

    I have also noticed if my lunch doesn't have enough protein I will add a Reduced Fat cheese stick or two. Also, a couple of egg whites can do the trick with out adding alot of calories. You can hard boil them, pop out the yolk and give it a squit of spicey brown mustard.

    I have realized that if I eat enough protein in all my meals it really makes me stay feeling full longer.

    i often buy some biltong or beef jerky if im short on protein :)

  • Thanks hopefully that will help me out some...im not 2 worried about the Calories i just know it tells me 2 eat way 2 much cuz i breastfeed i think the protein is probley the big thing

    There are numerous protein supplements out there if you're looking to get it that way. If not, then any kind of nut, lean meats, or eggs are all good sources of protein.
  • I try and have goat's cheese instead of cheddar 'coz it's got loads more protein in it.

    My fellow MFP'ers have gotten me hooked on Chobani Greek Yogurt. I also use protein shakes.

    Greek yogurt
    Goat cheese
    Pistachios
    Almonds
    Cheese and meat on crackers
    High protein cereal
    All natural peanut butter
    Fish, chicken, turkey, lean red meat

    I am one of those that likes to try to get it naturally as much as possible, but I also indulge in a Zone or Luna protein bar every so often. Just try to have protein in every meal and snack and you will get plenty. Good luck!
