I was on it and noticed no effects at all.
  • I read somewhere that the deal with birth control and the hormones isn't that the med itself causes you to gain weight, but the med might make you feel hungrier or make you feel like you want to eat more which is something you have to control. So as long as you don't start eating a bunch of garbage and stick to your guns-you shouldn't have any problems. :)

I was on Loestrin and that's when I gained a good 15 pounds. I went to the doc and I think I go on Sprintec next month (he never actually told me the name of medicine now that I think about it). So let me know how it goes for you!
  • I've got the implant, and it's definitely harder to lose weight (of course, this is also caused by me being lazy and not working out much!) However! I know you're not getting the implant, but just thought I'd pop my input in here. ;)
As long as you keep up the good work you'll be fine!

I haven't noticed any difference in my ability to lose weight while on BC. I have done a lot of research and found that it can cause you to retain water, so working out to sweat and sitting in sauna's may help! I try to drink 100 ounces of water a day, or more if possible. I also think a lot of it is mental. . Good luck :)

I've used Sprintec in the past, it didn't seem to have any effect on my weight. One of my friends actually lost weight using Seasonelle. She has a problem with PMS binging; with this pill she only has 4 TOM a year. Another friend of mine uses the Nuva Ring continually (no week without) which has resolved her PMS issues, including overeating, as that she skips her TOM this way. Best of luck!

Ummmm.... having a baby will make you gain for sure, so if I was you I would go on the pill anyway. Just saying

Yaz wasn't too bad for me. I didn't gain on that one. I gained a ton on Depo-Provera. I also tried Seasonique (idk how to spell that...) and didn't have massive gains, but they both made my blood pressure skyrocket and I couldn't loose any weight. Seasonique also gave me morning sickness. I don't know about you, but if I'm going to have morning sickness, there better be a little pink or blue bundle at the end of 9 months! Not to mention all of them completely killed my sex drive. That said...it affects all people differently. It won't hurt to try it, because you know what makes you gain more weight than birth control? Pregnancy!!! LOL
  • Apparently everyone reacts to each pill differently, so if you ask if many people have gained weight from a certain pill, you will always have some people say yes and others day no, but it won't be any indication of your own possible reactions to it.
    I hope this helps :)
