Weight training for newbies

Options
Hello all =)
I'm an ex-swimmer trying to get my muscles back! I know I will probably never look like the swimming linebacker that I used to (muscle wise anyways) but I am trying to tone a little and I know it promotes weight loss.
I recently did the free first time training session at my gym and the guy WAY overloaded me and caused some big, bad bicept strains (I couldn't pick up a coffee pot or unbend my arms for days) and thus i'm a little nervous to use what he showed me. I can't afford his big old trainer self and so i'm looking for some good weight training either at home or at the gym. I got the cardio covered, but it would be nice to go to the weigh room and have a plan. Any personal suggestions or websites?

just look up routines depending on what your looking for is my best advice bodybuilding.com has begginer routines intermediate womens mens i do recommend you throw abs and weighted squats or some type of squat in weighted tends to work your whole body is why ins and outs are good for biceps can be done with little weight if you are at home their are a wide range of pushups that work triceps in all kinds of ways tricep dips pullups so if your going for the at home that would be a good start if you want to do the at gym

    Hi there,
Start by doing some strength exercises that use your own body weight. You'd be suprised what that can do for you.
I transformed myself in less then 2 years and my own body weight was a big part of it. Having to do pushups dips and pullups with p90x did wonders.

haha Gorilla! didn't think of that! That's my hockey player boyfriend...weigh loss don't really help him on the ice!
My mom used to tell me I could probably outlift the football team with the traps I had...then I let them go away =(
