Looking for a group...

Hi there,

I'm a 44 year old stay at home mom who homeschools her kids, but isn't really religious. I started losing about a year and a half ago, and dropped 60 pounds. Bunch of life stuff happened, and I gained back 20 of it, but I never felt like I was "giving up", just taking a break. Now, I'm back in the swing of things and I'm looking to find a small(ish) group on MFP and I'm hoping someone will see this and think I'm a good fit. :)

I'm pretty upbeat, but have down days from time to time like all people. I try to stay positive though.

I might mention food that I eat, and I don't want to worry if that's a trigger for someone.

I have a LOT more to lose. Somewhere around 90 pounds.

I'm hiking and geocaching lately and that's my main exercise. I enjoy the outdoors, and after some foot/ankle problems for the past couple of years. I'm LOVING being able to navigate trails that were impossible for me before.

I try to eat cleanly, but am not averse to occasional junk food. My diary is an open book. I eat buttered popcorn (popped without oil) almost every day and refuse to give up whole milk or real butter, because I think they're better for you and I really like them.

Balance is my main goal. I'm not "on a diet", I'm trying to live a way that I can sustain long term. No diet foods for me, no artificial sweeteners, just real, good food, balanced with exercise, and planning ahead for high calorie meals or making up for them afterwards by adjusting my diet and exercise.

Hoping there's a group like this out there. :) If not, I'm starting one!

Hello, I am 33, not a mum but am a stay at home person for health reasons. I have well over 100lb still to lose. I am also not religiouse. I am doing a ketogenic plan initially because it may help bipolar disorder but also because I thought i may lose wieght on it. I am going to stick with it because miraculously it has so far killed my food cravings. I do plan to have some days off though for meals out with my friend etc but probably not for a while. I have cut out dairy and all grains because I am quite intollerant of them but have a history of eating them anyway and swelling up with fluid and inflamation. That is the nature of addiction. I will probably eat them again but i really want to only eat those things in moderation and on rare occasions.

Anyway thought i would say hello as you have a lovely smily face :)
Feel free to add me and best of luck either way.
