I think it depends on your starting weight and commitment level. I lost 30 lbs. in 8 weeks, but I had almost 90 lbs. to lose and I hit the gym 5-6 days a week. I was also very strict with my calories (though I did have my cheat moments).

I think the holidays is going to be the hardest part of it all. Its not an outrageous goal. If you are to go out to a Christmas party, eat a healthy snack before you go, who know what kind of food will be there. And leave some extra calories so you can have a goodie...I said A goodie. choose your favorite and then NO MORE. Other than that, I wish you luck!
  • ok so this may sound crazy but sub one of your meals with oatmeal... I eat it for lunch everyday
and it will help you lose weight fairly quickly....keeps that digestive system going and it's a good carb to eat
also...do not eat carbs after noon...so if you have to have them eat them before noon, this is a good rule to set
and that will limit your evenings to proteins and veggies which is just perfect..I have lots more tips
but these are easy ones that work

Please Sunshine share all you tips. I cant afford the gym but do have some vidoes and a tredmill. I only had to lose 43 and have lost 9lbs so far. I would like to lose 11 by Jan 1st, and be at my goal weight by my birthday which is March 5th.
  • i would love to have this as my goal, too. i'd at least like to lose 5-7.

That's my goal, too... well, actually by January 8th, so I gave myself an extra week.
So far 2 lbs. down. 8 to go.
5 or 6 of those are water weight, so that should be pretty easy, but the rest...
    I lose on average 0.5 lb/week.

Oh and I was gonna say...
weigh yourself every day. I stopped doing that and ended up gaining all that water weight.
When I see the affects, it's tougher for me to eat things that affect my weight.
With such a tough goal (for me), I have to stay focused.
