eat a deficit or maintenance?

hey mfp fam! its nice to be back. about a week ago i deleted my last mfp account to see if i could manage counting calories without it & it didn't go so well. Anyhoooo my question is if my goal is to simply lean out a little or lose an inch or so off my waist should i eat a deficit or at maintenance ? i workout at least 5 days a week for about 90 minutes. also I'm 5'2 129.8 lbs my measurements are 34(breast)

You don't have much weight to lose, so you could create a deficit by eating your maintenance calories, working out, and not eating those burned calories back (or at least not eating all of them back, since you work out quite a bit). That's what I've been doing. I'm set to lose 1-1.5 lbs/wk and since I don't eat back most of my burned exercise calories, I'm losing 2 lbs/wk. Hope this helps!0
