I saw that article yesterday and I think there is some truth in strength training.

I've been trying it and I'm just not convienced it's for me yet. When I was just watching calories, I felt tight and I liked the way I felt. Now that I've started cardio and strength training, I feel more bulky. Others have said that I'm using muscles I haven't before and I do feel stronger but ???

It's one more tool to put in our arsenal and I think education is the key to this process, so thank you for posting it here.

I agree with almost all of that article, and think there is some great advice in there. In the end though, Men are just less emotional about food then women. I even saw an interview with a guy who trains bodybuilders, and he straight up said he refuses to work with women because they are to emotionaly involved in what they can/can't eat.

I've seen it with my wife too. She'll say "I really want to eat some X", and I'll say "are you hungry?"

    "No."

"Will that help you with your fitness goals?"

    "No."

"Then why would you eat it?"

    "Because I want it."

Shocker. . .I lost weight more quickly then she did.

its so true! And I know at least for ME, i always make up excuses as to why I'll have this (type of greasy food) one last time. ughh. That is my real issue. I worry about what i can and cannot eat all day everyday

That's what I've always preached when people ask me what the secret is to losing weight. I'll ask them "What should you eat, ice cream or a salad?" or "What should you eat, friend chicken or grilled chicken?"

We all know what we are supposed to eat. If you eat what your supposed to eat and keep track of everything, you're all set. I know for me, I've never had trouble making the right choice.

For me, living a long, healthy life with a killer body is SO much more enjoyable then the 2 seconds you get to taste unhealthy food. Hell, all they do is keep you from your goal, make you die sooner, and make your stomach hurt for the next 2 hours. How is THAT worth it?

No problem. The best thing about making good choices is, it gets easier and easier. All you have to do is make a single one, and then worry about the next one later.
