anyone heard of this it's been on the doctors and dr. phill and they seem to say it's pretty good but you can only get the book online so I was wondering if anyone has tried it or know someone who has.

I was actually soooo disappointed that Dr.Phil had a 'gimmicky' type diet on his show :(

I don't think it's really a gimmick. I watched the show as well but what he said seemed to make perfect sense. I am one of those people who will do amazing one week or even two weeks but then I'm feeling so good I think I can stop and I just stop working out and watching what I eat and gain all of that weight back. This is about doing the 17 day diet I believe every 17 days and switching up what foods you eat so you never get bored... etc.

I have been doing it for 16 days and I definitely wouldn't classify this as "gimmicky"...but thats just my opinion!
  • I have been on the first cycle of the 17 day diet for 14 days now and have lost 11 pounds. I have tried WW, LA weight loss, counting calories on my own and have never had this much success in a diet. The part that keeps me going is that I can add more foods in the next cycles. This diet teaches you about portion control and that you can live without processed foods.

I agree!!! I was very disappointed! We can't people see that these are all ways for "people" to become millionaires! Watch your portion size and of course stay away from processed foods as much as possible. It's not rocket science. Why do hard working people spend SO much money on these? Look on your bookshelves and see how many diet books you have! You will not lose weight and keep it off until you make eating healthy and moving more a lifestyle. Thus, MFP.

I started the diet with a coworker yesterday. Yes, I did purchase the book, but I had a $10 credit to Amazon, so I only paid 1/2 the cost. I've done all the diets and succeed and gain and give up.

I know how to eat healthy and do eat relatively healthy foods and I know that everything in moderation/portion size, but sometimes the two of them don't always see eye to eye. I like this diet because it can seem rigid in the beginning with what you can and CANNOT eat.For me, this is the jump start that I need to get the motivation back in gear. Is it a fad diet - yup, but it's not like I'm eating bacon, eggs and cheese all the time to lose weight. The diet makes sense. A healthy diet is about eating lean meats/fish, veggies, fruit.

Personally, the probiotic yogurt is the only issue I have. I'm used to the Light & Fit yogurts - thin and liquidy, whereas the Greek yogurt is thick and takes some getting used to for me.
