I have Gout. Lived with it for almost 20 years before it was diagnosed as Gout. About 2 episodes a month on average. It is very painful and very debilitating.

Now I am able to control it with diet and medication during flare-ups, which are very few now. Maybe twice a year.

An average flare-up lasts about 5 days.

Had a 60th Birthday party over the weekend. Drank too much. Ate the wrong foods. Massive Flare-up on Monday. In my heel.

I was reading about a cream that has capsaicin in it for Gout.

Capsaicin is the chemical in Hot Peppers.

So, I diced a Jalapeno up very fine and put it between two layers of gauze. I taped that to my heel. Left it on over night. Woke up with very diminished pain. It's completely gone today.

A flare up that usually lasts 4 to 5 days only lasted 24 hours.

Good luck to your brother. It certainly worked for me. Dramatically.
