Last night I went to the gym straight from work, by the time I got home it was 8:00, showered, was eating dinner at 9. I much prefer eating earlier PLUS it's super cold out tonight and I just want to go home and be comfy.
BUT I also want a good workout at home. I do have Exercise TV but I haven't found a program on there that really makes me sweat. I have an exercise ball and mini trampoline.
Suggestions for a good hearty at home workout?

I workout at home exclusively. I have a few sets of dumbbells, DVDs, jump rope, kettlebells and a whole bunch of other stuff. But sometimes I just kind of wing my workouts.
Cardio Intervals are great...I do 40 count on jump rope, butt kicks, high knees, punches, star jumps, burpees, jumping jacks...pretty much anything. Last night I also ran the stairs in my house...10 flights at a time, then I would break and do some jump rope. Kicked my butt (and I'm a runner)...and my hamstrings are killing me today.
I also have a HRM (not sure if you do) so that motivates me to really work hard when I'm at home even though no one is watching me!0 -
Do you have Netflix? I like "Self:Your Best Butt Now!" and the "10 Minute Solutions: Carb Burner" is good too.
They are both available to stream instantly.0 -
I do not have a gym membership. I am a full time college student & full time mother to a soon to be 3 year old. My fiance works full time so I have tons of workout dvd's including wii workout games. I LOVE zumba, biggest loser, leslie sansone & I also have a tredmill in the basement & 5-10lb weights. No one says working out HAS to be at the gym. I love working out at home because my son will do it also, its alot of fun for us both.0

Oh, didn't realize about the NetFlix - will definitely check that out. I've got several to use at home: My favorites are Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, Biggest Loser and an old Jennifer somebody? Pilates. As long as you actually DO the whole thing it's certainly just as effective! I do better in a 60 minute class at the Y because I'd be too embarrased to just quit there. :blushing:0

I work pretty hard when I do the videos at home, but I definitely step it up a few notches during classes at the gym - I'm really heavy still and have a competetive/pride thing that makes me determined to keep up with the skinny girls (and show them up in Aquafit). :happy:0 -

That's me! Yesterday was my first step class in a while and I debated leaving 1/2 way through but made myself stick it out, and was glad I did. I guess if I thought of today as a weights day I would feel better-I feel it's impossible to get good cardio at home (for me). Unless I have myself a dance party of one.0 -
TURBO FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I burn 600 calories an hour according to my Bodybugg and the sweat literally pours out of my body when I'm done.
