I’ve been around a while, but newly serious

I registered here long ago, but never came back after that. It was so long ago that when I logged in last week and saw the date, all I could think was….. If I’d been here consistently, maybe I wouldn’t be carrying around the weight I am today. That being said, what’s the past is the past and it’s time to get serious about shedding the extra weight I’m carrying around. I’m not happy with myself, but it’s time to look to the future. I have an amazing 17 month old grandson that lives 6 hours away. I may not get to see him as often as I would like, but I want to be able to enjoy doing fun things with him as he grows.

A few months ago I began making a conscious effort to change my lifestyle and eat healthier. In making the changes, it’s also helping my husband. (I so enjoy when I make a healthy dish, having him comment how well he likes it and let me know that I can make it again anytime. It’s a sense of accomplishment to know what I’m doing is not just for me.)

I always knew it was a good to log what you eat, but was terrible at taking the time to write it down. Having the app makes it so much easier. I also enjoy cooking and love that I can enter a recipe and the nutritional value is calculated for me. Logging my food is making me so much more aware and with technology it’s so much easier.

I’ve been reading posts and really like how encouraging and supportive everyone has been. I’ve made a few friends here and am looking for more to receive and provide motivation. Feel free to add me!
