Pain in the Neck!

I have always had sore traps. I used to see a chiropractor, but stopped about 6 months ago. The other day I was doing a strength press and felt a cramping in my neck that gave me this massive headache. So, now every time I do any kind of press, push up, hang-clean, (where I strain ) I get the same cramping/headache up the back of my head.
I know no one here is a doctor, or can provide solid medical advice. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and what helped. My "traps" are ALWAYS sore, but, I am thinking it has something to do with the levator scapulae muscle. I will probably end back up at the chiropractor but, wanted to just throw the question out there! Thanks for any help!!

Try hourly stretching and massage of your neck. Check youtube for neck stretches. Get a handheld massager like Homemedics and use it hourly.
If there's no improvement in a few weeks, i'd see a physical therapist0
