Any walking lovers out there?

I love walking. When I first started exercising by walking, I was at a 3.0 mph pace. Gradually I increased it to 4.0 mph, then 5.0 mph, and before I knew it, I was down 23 lbs and walking at a grand pace of 6.0 mph. That was about 4 or 5 years ago. These days, I'm still at that decrease (now 26 lbs), but my walking pace has slowed to 4.0 mph. In the last couple of weeks, I've been able to lose 3-4 lbs just by walking. I'd jog more often if it wasn't painful for me. I've got ankle and knee joint issues, but it doesn't stop me from walking or jogging. I've also been doing c25k and am on W4D3 but I've paused it for a while.
Who loves walking? Does walking alone help you lose weight?

Walking alone doesn't help me lose weight. If I'm not logging....I'm eating too many walking calories.
To lessen the impact you could try a rebounder (mini trampoline)....but this would be an indoor walk and not everyone's preference. I am able to do more impact now........doing my own thing to Walk At Home videos.0 -
I walk quite a bit. It's one of the only forms of physical activity I enjoy. I live near a park and go for ~4 mile walks there once in a while.
As to calories, I stopped logging my walks in mfp, or I only log them at the end of the day after I've finished eating. I don't trust the calorie counts given by mfp, and I think that for a while I ended up eating more calories than I burned.0 -
I love walking but I need to do it on hills to get a reasonable calorie burn and into my target heart rate zone.
I have joint problems that keep me from moving faster to raise my heart rate.0
