Stability Ball?

I've been trying to come up with some different workouts to keep things interesting. The only equipment I have is my core glide stepper and a resistance band (with handles).
I have been using the powers of Google to look up different sites for exercises/workouts and I've noticed that quite a few of them are incorporating the stability ball.

So my question is:
Is it worth a purchase. What purpose does it serve?

I'm clueless when it comes to exercise gadgets.

    I love mine, It really helps to work the abs and and other areas with little to no strain. Really fun just make sure you get the right size for your and your intended activity.

    Wait til the Jan 1st rush to buy exercise equipment and you'll probably get a super good deal on one. I love mine and you can find videos on youtube with tons of exercises. Mine even came with a good DVD.
