It has really been a struggle to try to lose weight and get fit. I am 56 yrs old, currently weigh 270, and sit at a desk all day.
Thanks to My Fitness Pal, I have stayed on track all month, but did not lose any weight. It has taken me two years to lose 50 lbs, and I am not giving up, but it sure is hard! My co-workers and I started a walking club, and we walk for 30 minutes during lunch. Our boss hired a trainer to come in after work, 4 days a week. Kick boxing on Mondays, Palades on Tues, Zumba on Wed and Yoga on Thurs. We have a large lunch room and have been encouraging each other to eat healthier. I don't know what I would do without all of the support, because after eating right and exercising all month and not lose one pound is just plain heart breaking. My Doctor says I am doing great. My A1C is down from 10 to 5.5. I know I lost inches this month, clothes all fit better. but still that scale... Anyway, to all those who are struggling, do not give up. You did not get over weight by over eating just one meal. I am determined to continue, one meal at a time, and I'll get there. And if that scale doesn't move soon, it is going in the trash!

I don't have diabetes (that I know of... that's health insurance for you). Anyway... just wanted to say that it usually takes about a month for me to start dropping any weight too. I think it takes my body that long to figure out I'm making changes!

I am AMAZED by your workplace... that is so wonderful that you are all supporting each other so much! Sounds like you are on the right track to starting to drop some weight... keep up the great work!

Keep things going fellow Texas Lady
You do have an incredible support system at work, simply amazing!

Clean out your cupboards.........plan everything, every meal, every snack. You will see electrifying results if you stay focused....
Remember, it's the food we eat that hampers our efforts.....count it all. Soon you'll be able to do most of it without too much effort.
Lots of water, too. Half your weight in ounces is a good rule of thumb :drinker:

Keep posting....you're worth it. t2diabetes could be your saving grace :flowerforyou:
Be good to yourself AND those grandbabies will have you in every aspect of their lives!
  • Weekends are difficult, no support team there, and no schedule. As always, it was great to get back to work!

Tonight in kick boxing class, I gave 100 %. I have learned that if I cheat alittle or give up too soon, don't workout as hard, that I only cheat myself. I also noticed that everyone else is trying to keep up with me. Me. This old fat grandma. So, I have to keep going, keep trying harder. The people that I depend on for encouragement and support, are actually following me. Wow.

Life is good. One day at a time, one meal at a time, one kick boxing class at a time. I did good today, stuck to the plan, tomorrow is a new day. Good night all.
