Minor success

This was pretty cool. The last time I ran outdoors was maybe two months ago, and I struggled to make 1 lap. I almost did two laps today which is almost a mile. I walked a bit, ran some more, walked a bit, then really pushed myself to run the last 1/2 lap.

The only thing that sucks is I was expecting more since I can usually run longer without breaks on the treadmill, but I timed myself today, and I'm running .5 mph faster outdoors. I guess that's a good thing?

Either way, I'm going back out tomorrow for another run. If I can run 2 miles (4 laps) without stopping on Saturday, I am treating myself to a pair of running tights!

That is so awesome! Doesn't that feel good to get out there and feel the progress!!!! I ran up and down the canal bank by my house yesterday for the first time in a couple years and it felt great at that moment. this morning didn't feel so great, but I know that will get easier the more I keep doing it. I LOVE progress!

That is a good thing. I ran into the same problem when I first started running again. I had no idea how fast I was running. I was going way too fast for a beginner. No wonder I was having so much trouble before. The treadmill has helped alot, when it comes to training. Running in the snow is alot harder. I felt it in my calves this afternoon. Keep up the GREAT work! You'll run like the wind!

    Thanks everyone :)

I had an "ah ha" moment today. I was getting all worked up because I have too much due for school in the next two weeks, but wanted to fit in runs 4-5 days a week. That would mean driving an hour to the gym, working out for 30 mins or so, and driving an hour home. Then I thought...oh wait, suck it up, bundle up, and walk 2 minutes to the track. That means I'm saving money, time, and sanity. All in all, I think it was a good discovery!
