muscles starting to hurt 3 days after. normal?

so I exercised on Monday and felt absolutely fine. Did deep squats (40kg) bench press and barbell rows (each 30 kg). Yesterday i noticed some slight tenderness in my upper back when my boyfriend very kindly prodded it for me, but today I have really sore upper back muscles and a bit of triceps too. I usually start aching the day after after exercise if its going to happen, is it normal for muscle soreness to start 3 days after exercise?

Muscle soreness happens to me anywhere from 1 to 3 days after weights. No real pattern

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. I did weighted squats, deadlifts and overhead press.
Didn't feel anything the next two days. Kind of disappointed in myself cause I thought if I had done it right I'd be sore.
Very next day it was a struggle to sit on the toilet

Found this on Wikipedia: The soreness is felt most strongly 24 to 72 hours after the exercise.[1] It is thought to be caused by eccentric (lengthening) exercise, which causes microtrauma to the muscle fibers. After such exercise, the muscle adapts rapidly to prevent muscle damage, and thereby soreness, if the exercise is repeated.[2]

A really heavy work out will cause delayed onset muscle soreness.
