Weird weigh-in... do I count it?

Unsure about my weigh-in this morning... I weigh in every Friday, same time (7:30am), after the same routine (go to the bathroom, and take all clothes off).
Since joining MFP in September, I have had my goals set at -1/pound a week and also losing half a pound a week (current setting). I have been consistently losing a whole of a half pound a week since I started, but never MORE than the goal setting.
Last Friday I weighed in at 120 pounds (I am 22 years old, 5'4", BMI 20.5ish, which is 'healthy'), but this morning I weighed 116, what?!? (this just doesn't sound right...) (this is still 'healthy' BMI also, I could go down to 107.5 lbs - but I won't!! haha)
I've been over on calories a few days this week (over 350 yesterday), and exercise has been the basically the same. The only difference I can see is that usually I exercise on Thursday's, but yesterday I did not, I decided to rest to get ready for a Sunday morning 8k race.
Not sure what would make the scale go DOWN 4 pounds in a week :-/ any ideas? Could it be that I DIDN'T exercise (uhh?!)
Should I even "check-in" with that weight if it's so impossibly different? I don't WANT to lose that much that fast (I only want a few more pounds gone in general), and I am confused!
PS. Womanly fact, it hasn't been my TOM lately. It isn't coming until next Tuesday, so that wouldn't be a factor.

Double check that it is truly 116 pounds and log it. Eat a little more next week if you don't want to lose weight that fast, but I wouldn't worry about it too much.0

My scale dropped 3.5 pounds mysteriously this week, but then jumped back up 2.5 the next day.....weird! I wish I could drop 4 pounds overnight once or twice a week - that would work well for me :bigsmile:0

weight fluctuates from day to day. you might be dehydrated. after a night out i usually weigh a couple pounds less because I'm not hydrated.0

the water issue is actually quite possible now that I think about it. Since I usually do a run on Thursday's, I drink probably 3-4 more cups of water, so yesterday I got less water than I usually would! thanks!0 -
Hi Molly,
Now this is an odd one - what a pickle?
All I can say is that if it were me, Id A) check the battery power in my scales to make sure there not playing up, if they are fine then I'd check it again tomorrow and if it still says the same thing, then record it.
Have to admit, that is a quick drop - but if its not a minute of madness then, congratulations!

P.s I also weigh in at 7:30 every friday and Im also 5.4" he he x0 -
Did you reset the scale and try again? This morning when I weighed myself, i was 3 lbs less than I was expecting - of course, I was ecstatic at first, then I had to admit it was strange, so I turned the scale off, waited a few minutes, and weighed myself again, sadly, the amazing 3lbs were back on, and I was the weight I was expecting....0

I say log it.
But if you go up next Friday - log that too.
I flux right now between 4 pounds. I log every Monday. If I'm up three, I log it, down 1/2 I log it.0 -
I weighed myself this morning and got 154. Then I realized that I weighed myself before going to the bathroom. I weighted myself about 20 minutes later in the same clothes, after peeing, but also after eating 1 egg on an english muffin - and drinking nothing, or maybe only 1/4 cup from the faucet when brushing my teeth. The scale said 156. Go figure.0

Check the battery in your scale.
This Summer mine was weak and showed me losing more than I actually did. What a kick in the pants when I put a new batter in it.0
