NEWBIE looking for help!

Hi, my name is Liz, I am the mom of 8 wonderful kids, and I need to lose about 120lbs, My weight issues began years ago when I was pregnant with my first daughter, I was put on bed rest at 6 months and remained there until she was born. I continued to gain weight with each proceeding pregnancy. I woke up one day and said, "This is it! I don't want to be overweight anymore!" So I started changing the way I ate, the way I looked at food, and what I drank. I realized that almost all of my calories were coming from what I was drinking, so I quit drinking high calorie drinks and started drinking only water, flavored water, tea, and coffee. I have been into my lifestyle change for about a month. I exercise at least 20 mins every day, I watch my calorie count, and I try to be mindful about the sugars I am consuming. I have lost one pound since I started exercising. I don't want to get discouraged but honestly I am. My husband has lost about 23 lbs and is in the best shape of his life, he looks great and wants to do so much more than I am able to, this discourages me too. I joined MFP today in the hopes of getting friends that can encourage me and push me to keep going. I want to believe me losing weight is possible, but it is very hard to see right now. Maybe my body just needs time to adjust? IDK looking for help Thanks
